BTO – Buy Tourism Online supports the Hospitality Social Awards 2012, the first Italian prize for rewarding the best social media and marketing ideas among entrepreneurs in tourism and hospitality.
The aim of the prize is to recognize operators who have distinguished themselves in the use of digital social media in order to promote their business and improve the experience of tourists.
A jury will evaluate the candidates, awarding prizes in each of the following categories:
INDEPENDENT HOSPITALITY ENTERPRISE
Hotels, B & B’s, farm stays, resorts, historic properties, campgrounds, room rentals, motels, tourist villages
For this category it’s possible to nominate oneself for one or more of the following awards:
- Best Facebook page
- Best Twitter account
- Best use of photos (Flickr, Pininterest)
- Best use of video (YouTube, Vimeo)
- Best SO.LO.MO strategy (Foursquare, QRcode, Instagram, web site for mobile device optimization)
- Best company or owner/operator blog
AGGREGATED HOSPITALITY STRUCTURE
Chain, club, consortium
In this category you can submit your candidacy for:
- Best integrated social media strategy
TOURISM DESTINATION
In this category you can submit your candidacy for:
- Best integrated social media strategy
The winners will be announced the evening of November 29 in Florence at dinner between Day One and Day Two of BTO – Buy Tourism Online with a symbolic token and the award “rosette” for use in communications for twelve consecutive months.
