The unbalanced reputation

Each year, online reviews take on an ever-increasing importance. For some time we’ve searched for methodologies that guarantee a better balance or at least a tool that can limit the power of reviewers, perhaps by certifying content. But hasn’t the moment arrived for greater transparency in agency-tourist relations? Will 2012 be remembered or not as the year in which the balance that now favors the traveler tipped?

The interlacement between weather and tourism have become fundamental. Weather forecasts play a fundamental factor in domestic weekend tourism or even regarding short breaks from other European cities. Hotel operators, above all those at the seaside, must reckon with always more tourists watchful of every bit of online weather information.

The tourism of the future. Futurebrand

Keynote + panel discussion
Today there are many factors that determine the attractiveness of a place, but more and more often the tourist parameters converge towards those of residents. The much longed-for ‘brand reputation’ seems to start, as Carlo Petrini says, “from resident citizens, from their quality of life, from the capacity to be happy, from their care of the land they inhabit. Tourists will come, as a consequence.” Is this the path of tourism of the future?

GP Dati:
Revenue Management and the new Social Networks.
Pinterest and Twitter vs. Facebook

Training Session
Since 2010, the hotel-LAB division of the GP Dati digital social web has been promoting hotel presence on social networks. At BIT 2010 it prepared the first company page for Italian Spacehotels group/network, and did consulting and training at losinj-hotels in Croatia to activate that which was until then a company page and is today a fan page. In 4 years, the losinj-hotels page has become a contact point for clients with more than 8,000 fans, but also a sales point with high revenues of repeat clients. The efforts of this last part of the year (2012) have been to verify how emerging social networks, integrated with consolidated social strategy in Facebook, can integrate and facilitate revenue management strategy for market segments, styles, interests, customer care and satisfaction. From here the choice is to focus efforts on Twitter, which is becoming the main social platform for customer care and satisfaction, and Pinterest, an ideal new platform for communicating with precise market segments. Giulia Zanin and Giorgio Zavatti will seek to solicit ideas for Facebook and interest for the new social platforms, for now less utilized by hospitality management.

From cost analysis to a competitive price!

Training Session
Sales prices are ever more imposed by global market logics rather than determinate ex-ante mediating company strategies of revenue and price management.

To be aware of the profit margins of the sales process has therefore become an element which is, today, impossible to ignore.

The solution is obtained by joining a healthy price management process to a likewise punctual (and constant) analysis of costs, profitability and the financial progress of the hotel business.

The semiotics of consumption.
Spaces of transition,
from the local fair to Facebook

Training Session
What has changed from the local fair to concept stores?

What are the shopping spaces of today?

If it’s true that the city increasingly resembles a giant store, it is likewise true that shopping centers are reproducing the features of the city.

In this continual mixing of spaces and consumption, of connections and appearances, man still feels the need for affirmation in democratic and identical spaces.
Does Facebook respond to these exigencies?

If it does, can we do business without distorting its essence?

The presentation wishes to respond to these questions, suggesting alternative and original methods for stimulating purchases of hotel services with the help of Facebook, a good site and well-performing booking engine.

Google AdWords
Take back what’s yours!

Cassetta degli Attrezzi

The strategic importance of Google AdWords for the success of your hotel: from “simple” marketing tool for obtaining visibility, to real and bona fide business leverage for competing in an ever more seasoned market.
Today the tourism market is more competitive than ever; OTA, social commerce, meta-searches, portals and independent sites… in the tourism industry there are always more players competing and contending for – often excelling at – that which users are really looking for: your hotel!
Here then is why Google AdWords becomes an indispensable tool for your hotel in order to rebalance this no longer sustainable dynamic, re-stabilizing, on the one hand, the relationship between “direct” and “intermediate”, and offering itself, on the other, as a means capable of creating new commercial opportunities by way of the promotion of your hotel in contexts that are difficultly reachable by “classic” intermediaries.
In the course of the training session it will therefore be emphasized why a hotel must not for any reason drop Google AdWords; what the tangible advantages are that this can bring to your hotel, and how to quantify the investment budget based on the ROI obtained. Finally, operative and concrete actions that can be immediately put into practice will be shown.
