Mikaela Bandini

Creator of Digital Diary of Italy

Born and raised in Cape Town, where she earned a diploma in Fine Arts and then earned her degree in Industrial Psychology. Since 1993 she has been in Italy, where she obtained her Master’s Degree in Marketing for Small and Medium Businesses.

Mikaela has a great passion for design and modern architecture which has always inspired her to travel in search of new trends.

From her offices in Matera in 2002 she founded www.viaggidiarchitettura.it, an award-winning organizational site and virtual showcase for specialized itineraries dedicated to insiders, but also to aficionados of the world of architecture, design and creativity.

Among the other of Mikaela’s web projects are www.sassiweb.it, a much-visited portal on the city of Matera, and www.urbanitaly.com, a blog-guide with advice about little-known Italy; anti-democratic and very personal suggestions on urban trends for architectourists and design workers.

The latest among her projects is Digital Diary of contemporary Italy with the unconventional format of Cantforget.it{aly}, begun in Basilicata in September 2011, completed not long ago in Friuli Venezia Giulia and now (in progress) in Trentino.

She regularly collaborates with RAI, Mediaset and Sky for special programs on metropolitan world trends, as well as for the production of onboard programming Alitalia and Air One flights.
