Having obtained his degree in Sciences and Technologies of the Figurative Arts, Music, Performing Arts and Fashion (DAMS) in Bologna, Patrizio began his artistic career by performing theatrically for children in the summer vacation colonies organized by the city.
He debuted on RAI with the group he worked with at Gran Pavese Varietà (Syusy Blady, Stefano Bicocchi, the Ruggeri Twins and Olga Durano), with a small spot in the RAI Mixer show. Success then arrived in 1987 with his participation in the satirical show Lupo Solitario on Italia Uno, and the next year on the program L’araba fenice together with the entire group from Gran Pavese.
After having achieved, together with Syusy Blady, a record 100 hours of live, uninterrupted broadcasting, Patrizio participated in the RAI 3 program Porca miseria, by Fabio Fazio and Bruno Gambarotta, and then in Se rinasco on RAI 2.
For RAI 3 he hosted the entertainment programs on culture, tourism and geography Turisti per caso, Velisti per caso and Evoluti per caso. In 2009 he hosted the program Tutto fa Storia on the History Channel and in 2012, with Syusy Blady, the travel show Slow Tour.
Patrizio has also acted in three films: La voce della Luna by Federico Fellini (1990), Volere volare by Maurizio Nichetti (1991) and David Copperfield by Ambrogio Lo Giudice (2009).
He has published numerous books on tourism: Di passaggio in India, Comix; Quel poco che abbiamo capito del mondo facendo i turisti per caso, Einaudi; Chiudi il gas e vieni via, viaggi di un sedentario, Socialmente.
